Ship from Store - Assigning orders manually
This article describes how Ship from Store orders that could not be routed automatically can be assigned manually to one or more stores.
Important: With manual assignment, all settings such as the maximum number of order splits, available stock, etc. can be overridden.
Overview
When is a manual assignment necessary?
A manual assignment is necessary if the system can't route an order automatically based on the automatic routing and the rules you have defined. In this case, a person should decide how this order is assigned.
Reasons why routing was not successful can be, for example:
- A product is only in stock once, in only one store. The order is rejected there because the product is damaged. As a result, no other store can be found that can fulfill the order.
- No store accepts and processes an order within the specified time. As soon as the maximum number of re-routing attempts you have defined is reached, this order is no longer routed.
- Routes are configured incorrectly and don't cover the current case (e.g. a different delivery country)
How am I notified?
You or your employees are notified automatically by email as soon as routing has failed. You can define the email addresses in the Ship from Store settings under Settings › Ship-from-Store in the field "Notification email addresses":
Processing orders
In the admin, navigate to Sales › Overview. Here you can click the button "X orders awaiting action" (X = number) to filter all orders that require a manual assignment. This button is only shown if there are orders awaiting action.
Click the order and then the "Fulfillment Orders" tab. Here you see an overview of the items and the current assignment:
In the section "Items not assigned to a fulfillment", click "Assign to location". In the "Assign Products" window, you can now assign the individual line items to a location via "Select location". The list shows each location and the number of items available:
When you have finished the assignment, click "Apply". The system notifies the corresponding locations as usual.
