How are app deep links used?
They can be used to link to the correct content in your app from external tools, such as Klaviyo, or from self-built app pages. For example, you can use them to add a coupon to the shopping cart or start a product search from a push notification.
How do I create an app deep link?
They are created individually for your app according to a fixed pattern.
In your Shopgate admin, you can generate app deep links by selecting your desired destination in the app under Marketing > App-Links. You can choose from the following options:
- Home page
- Category
- Product
- Search
- Shopping Cart
- Wish List
- CMS Pages
- Custom Routes
Depending on your selection, you can specify additional actions, such as entering a search term or adding a coupon to the shopping cart.
Then, you can easily copy and use the deep link you have created.
Who can open deep links to my app?
Anyone who has installed your app on their mobile device.
Some devices do not recognize deep links.
Under certain circumstances, some devices or applications (e.g., Outlook) may not recognize the deep link. In such cases, you can use a free URL shortener, such as Bitly, which acts as an intermediate page.
