This article gives you all the information you need to activate SOFORT Banking as a payment method for your apps.

Required information
You need the following information before you can set up SOFORT as a payment method at Shopgate.

Generating a configuration key
To connect your SOFORT account to your Shopgate account, you need a configuration key. Please follow the steps below to create and retrieve it.
Creating a new project for your app
To generate a configuration key, you first need to create a Gateway project.
- Log in to your SOFORT account. In the "PROJECTS" section, click New project and then Create project.
- Next, select Gateway project and click Create project.
- Now enter some information for your new project. You can use the table below as a guide. You can fill in all other fields as you like. Finally, click Save.
General settings Project name We recommend using your shop name with the word "App" added at the end. Shop system Select the shop system of your online shop. Website Enter the URL of your online shop. Settings for all payment methods Success link Leave these fields as they are. Shopgate sends these links to SOFORT via the existing API connection. Abort link 
And that's it: you have created a project for your app.
Finding your configuration key
After you have created a "Gateway project", a configuration key is generated for you. In the left menu bar, click API-Key in the "Services" section. Your configuration key is then shown in the middle of the page.
Allowing the Shopgate IP address
If you have set restrictions for IP addresses, please add the Shopgate IP address under IP restrictions.
- In the menu, go to Services → API-Key.
- If an IP address is entered here, please allow the Shopgate IP address as well. To do this, click the green "+" sign and add the IP address 176.34.154.104 to the list. Then save your entry.
Adding SOFORT Banking as a payment method
To set up SOFORT Banking as a payment method for your app, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shopgate admin.
- Go to Settings › Payment Methods.
- In the "Add payment method" search field, search for SOFORT Banking and click it to select it.
- A pop-up window then opens. Enter the required details (configuration key) of your SOFORT account there and click Save.
That's it! From now on, SOFORT Banking is supported as a payment method in your app.
