You can attach additional fees and discounts to any payment method that is activated for your marketplace (country).

Setting up additional fees and discounts

You can grant discounts or charge additional fees on individual payment methods for orders in your app. You can do this either directly when you set up a new payment method or later for payment methods that are already set up.

Simply follow these steps: 

  1. Log in to your Shopgate admin.
  2. In the menu bar, go to Settings › Payment Methods.
  3. In the overview, click the Config button next to the payment method you want.

  4. If you want to set up a new payment method with additional fees or discounts, click the "Add payment method" field and select the payment provider you want from the drop-down menu.

  5. After you select a payment method, a pop-up window opens in which you can configure the general options for the connection to the Shopgate backend. In the lower part of the window, you will find the Additional charges/discounts slider.

  6. Turn the option on. Another field then opens where you can set the discount or additional fees you want. The table below will help you with this.   

Options for additional fees and discounts

This table gives you an overview of all available options for additional fees and discounts: 

Free Shipping If this option is enabled (set to YES), no shipping costs are charged for any order placed with this payment method.
  Only above

Enter a value that serves as the minimum for free shipping.

Enter 0 in the field if ALL orders placed with this payment method should be shipped free of charge.
Additional charges/discounts  
  € / %

Numeric amount: This value is deducted from the total value of the order or from the individual product prices.

Percentage: Leave the "0" in the field for the numeric value and define a percentage value.
  Total order value

Numeric/percentage value that is calculated based on the total amount of the order and added or deducted.
  Goods value

If a delivery contains several products, the defined numeric/percentage value is calculated as an additional fee/discount per product.
  Limit charges

If you turn this option on, you can limit the additional fees for each order. Once the feature is enabled, further options become available.
  Maximum additional charges/discounts Set a value for the maximum additional fees or a threshold above which a fixed amount is charged as an additional fee.
Please note: If you selected "Percentage" and/or "Goods value" in the previous option, we recommend setting a maximum amount.
  No additional costs/discounts for charges over With this option, you can define the amount above which no additional fees are charged on orders in your app.
Tip: You can use this option with additional fees to encourage your customers to buy more. Customers tend to browse your range further when they see that this removes the additional fees, which means more revenue for you!
Min/Max cart amount

If this option is set to Yes with the slider, the payment method is only shown if the cart value is within the set min/max range. If no minimum or maximum is entered, the option is turned off again automatically.

IMPORTANT: This option is not available for payments with express buttons (PayPal and PayPal PLUS)
  Min amount

Enter a minimum order value for using the payment method. If no minimum order value is entered, we assume that you don't want one.
  Max amount

Enter a maximum order value for using the payment method. If no maximum is entered, we assume that you don't want one.
