Integrating iOS Smart Banner in your mobile shop

Shopgate allows you to guide your shop visitors directly your iOS app's page in the app store using a Smart Banner.

Please note: Currently, implementing a Smart Banner in Shopgate is only supported in iOS for selected shop systems *.

How do I set up my iOS Smart Banner?

  1. Log into your Shopgate admin panel and go to Integration → Utilities.
  2. On the Utilities page, scroll down to the HTML tags area and enable the feature by setting the iOS Smart Banner slider to ON.EN_iOS_Smartbanner1.png
    Attention: If you do not see this section, please contact Shopgate support.
  3. If you use your own Responsive Web Design, please make sure the Mobile Website Deeplink feature is disabled (turned OFF). Otherwise, this could negatively impact your SEO performance (duplicate content)! EN_iOS_Smartbanner2.png

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I have to deactivate the function "Mobile Website Deeplink"?

If you use your own responsive web design, you must make sure that the function "Mobile Website Deeplink" is disabled! Otherwise it may come to SEO penalties due to duplicate content.

Can I also activate the Smart Banner for other shop systems?

If you do not have any of the listed shop systems, you can manually include a Smart Banner as a meta tag on any page. Please use the following day (Apple):

<meta name = "apple-itunes-app" content = "app-id = myAppStoreID, affiliate-data = myAffiliateData, app-argument = myURL">
